The Faithful

Shot in NTSC DC interlaced in the late 90’s, the post-production of this documentary required a very customised workflow with legacy tools like Virtualdub and MSU deinterlacing plugins. Frame rate conversion was made in DaVinci Resolve Studio.

The entire film was edited in Adobe Premiere and transferred to DaVinci Resolve Studio for color grading. A proposed 16mm film look was proposed and accepted by the director. The aesthetic nature of the original image format was kept, while improving of technicalities like perceived resolution, and texture were worked for an adequate theatrical presentation.

Color grading project was graded in Porto, Portugal with the director in New York City, USA. The film was delivered in both ProRes HQ, DCP and web delivery formats.
